Summers in Texas are hot, so finding indoor activities during the heat of the day is essential. The Kimbell Art Museum located in Fort Worth, Texas is one of the preeminent art museums in the world. It houses a permanent collection to kill most collections at other museums. This month their featured exhibit is A Modern Vision: European Masterworks from The Phillips Collection.
The exhibit presents a “selection of the most iconic European paintings and sculptures from The Phillips Collection, America’s first museum of modern art, which opened in Washington, DC, in 1921,” the Kimbell website states. It includes distinctive Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, and Expressionist masterworks. Some of the artists included in the collection are Courbet, Corot, Daumier, Delacroix, Ingres, Cézanne, Degas, Gauguin, Van Gogh, Manet, Monet, Sisley, Bonnard, de Staël, Kandinsky, Matisse, Morandi, and Picasso.
These artists are some of the greats of humankind and since admission is free, why wouldn’t you go to see their work? Grab some food from the cafe and then take a stroll through the permanent collection and this special exhibit.
